Hi.
I assemble indy link tracks and make sure they fit, then pop off the run of tracks (leaving the drive sprocket or idler off too), and paint them separately.
I don't use an airbrush, so I paint them off the kit, then put them on after it's almost done, and do the final weathering after final assembly.
