Hello,
If your airbrushing:
Spray base color (should be lightest color).
Roll some putty in plastic wrap (Glad Cling Wrap). I put the putty in plastic because some types will mark the paint below w/ oil type stains and it keeps plastic from moving under pressure of a/b.
Lay that over your model and lightly press down. Flatten or widen putty as needed to make the shapes you want.
Start spraying 2nd paint color (this should be med. color) - not straight but at a slight angle to the surface your painting. Layer on the paint in several light coats
Leave the plastic wrap on and add another layer of wrap and putty and shape for next color.
Spray 3rd color (darkest color). Keep doing this if you have fourth color.
I would plan the shapes and color somewhat before painting so you don't run out of area on the last color.
This is the reverse of most masking jobs because you are overpainting any areas not covered and thats's waht you see when you pull of the plastic.
Good Luck. |
