I hear about artist inks having uses in armor modelling. I've used the
silver ink for paint chipping but many say it is too bright..and artist
pencils work better. But for washes it would appear that inks come already
thinned and ready to apply.

Are the inks used as washes? Do they have other uses? Can someone suggest
a palette of colors to start out with? And a good brand?

Thanks.
