I had the same problem with my Badger 200. I found that the paint was drying before it hit the surface of the model. I thin my Tmaiya acrylic paints with 70% isopropal alcohol which probably added to the problem. So, I experimented and found that if I thin the paint to 70% thnner to 30% paint and hold the brush a little closer, the "granular" problem disappeared.
