Do you mean the colour of the paint over which the zimmerit was applied? This would be that red-oxide primer. The zimmerit itself was a tan colour. Over all this a base of dark yellow would have been applied followed by either dark green and red brown when the tank was shipped from the factory.
Basically - up until the time zimmerit was still being applied, tanks where painted overall dark yellow as a base.
