Hello all.
Although not entirely armour i'm at my wits in this matter so i thought i might turn to another source of info.
I haven't painted figures in a while, and although no master of the art i cant even seem to get my basics right when starting to paint a face. When i try to apply a wash to the figures face the pigments settle opposite to where they should, not in the crevices of the eyes and between cheek and nose but on the cheek and around the eye socket like big goggles. What could the problem be? I've tried acrilics watered down and the traditional oil paints with turps and thinners, all yielding less than great effects. could it be my oils and the size of the pigment particles? or am i missing something else?
well, this gives me more time to fiddle on the groundwork, so i still got plenty to do. =)
Any comments are much appreciated.
Later then
