I've been using an airbrush for a while and I've been encountering this same
problem. I'm trying to get a nice soft pattern for some weathering I'm doing
but the paint always comes out quite speckly i.e. lots of little specs
rather than a nice feathered edge. I've thinned the paint right down and
it's not so bad when the colours are about the same but I'm using black on a
light sand colour and it shows up really bad. The only thing I've found to
eliminate the specs is to turn the pressure up way high but it's seriously
difficult to control the painting with the pressure too high. These are
enamel paints and I usually thin with Humbrol thinners or turpentine. Can
anyone suggest a type of thinner or technique that would remedy this?
Thanks very much. Phil F
