Hi Guys-
I purchased a Tamiya Tiger I to make a green Tunisian Tiger as seen in MMiR's Tiger book. Tamiya's original Tiger I kit had the large red with white borders "142" necessary for the Tiger I wanted to model. For reasons I can no longer remember, I decided to buy Bison decals African Tiger decals which do not have the "142" marking described above. The Bison decal set does have a small "142". I find it strange that there would be two Tigers in Tunisia with the turret numbers "142", one with small numbers and the other with the large numbers we see in photographs (one photo appears in Squadron signal's latest Tiger I in action book and another photo appears in Panzer Colours I). I realize this may be of no great importance, however, I always thought turret number belonged to one tank only, meaning that if "142" were used on one Tiger I we would not see this set of numbers used again on another Tiger I especialy in the very same theatre of operations.
Any thoughts?
Geoff Steer
