I'm going to assemble StuIG 33B and I have some doubts about painting this model.
As you know of 24 built vehicles 16 were lost or captured during the battle of Stalingrad. The remaining 8 took part in the summer campaign of 1943. These 8 StuIGs were painted in two-color camouflage as it's clearly seen on photos. The lost or captured vehicles were supposedly painted in the standard German grey.
So, if I want to built a model representing a vehicle of the battle of Stalingrad, I should paint it in the German grey.
Am I right? |
