Could well be,
However there's a color pic of a Stug III F at Stalingrad that's painted in dark yellow overall. IIRC the StuG 33 were about as "old" so might also have been painted in overall dark yellow.

However, as the StuG 33 were to see action at Stalingrad, dark grey might have offered better camouflage properties. (And ofcourse the change to dark yellow officialy only started in the spring of '43.)
