| Enamel doesn't necessarily specify whether the paint is solvent based or water based, but was originally a description of the finish of the paint when dry. One of the properties of enamel paint was supposd to be a harder, glossier finish. Though the term is thrown around these days to mean an oil based paint, that is not necessarily the case, as their are Latex, acrylic and oil based enamels. |
