I don't use an airbrush, and I paint with acrylics and enamels. I paint A over
E and E over A on figures and armor, and thus far, I have had no problems. The
important thing is to let the base coat dry between applications. I often leave
them to dry a week or more if I'm going to switch mediums, and depending on the
paint. Tamiya paint is terrible for lifting off when overcoated with any other
paint. That's one reason I have about a half dozen figures and at lease three
armor kits on the go at the same time. Furthermore, I use Oil paints as well,
and they take longer to dry.

I can't be arsed to set up a lamp and dry paint faster, I'd rather just start
another kit...
