Hi Mark,

To be honest one of the most useful and excellent quality, for painting to a consistant standard, is to use vallejo Model Colour paints. They are acrylic and you can dispense a tiny amount as they are packed in eyedropper bottles and thin with either water or their own thinners; there is even a drying retardent in the range.

One of the colours that I find most useful is their German Cammo Dark brown and Brown Violet for replicating chips on vehicles and equipment.

As an aside, The Brown Violet is also great as a basecoat, to be used on the vehicle tool equipment.

have a look at their site. http://www.acrylicosvallejo.com/

Hope this helps,

John
