I second the first comment, you should open your nozzles and clean them. When they are new they work fine, but then you have to clean them quite often. Also check the airbrush, it will probably need a deep cleaning, as mine used to get clogged inside. I would normally get away with a tooth pick or a cotton swab and plenty of patience and cleaning mix (i.e. thinner or acrylic thinner).
I also found that at higher pressure the paint comes out nice.
Despite Testors saying you shouldn't open the nozzles it is possible. Everything can be cleaned as new. With time though, the plastic tip of the nozzle will break and cause an awful effect. Another thing to keep in mind is that the metallic needle is fragile and can distort if improperly handled. This too will cause defects with your paintwork.
I'd say that depending on the intensity of use, an average needle has a life span of 3 years or so, at least that's what happened with my tan one (fine point) and I still think it can be used for less accurate work.

Hope this helps and good luck,

Juan
