Roy,
you are right with your list.

The bakelit was not only used for the Wire cutter handles. The Feldtelefon housing was made of bakelit also and the butt stock of the Machingun 34 and 42 as well. BTW the bakelit was used for the MG3 (actual version of the MG 42) until today, but it seems they are bringing some new versions in plastic or rubber now.

I had two weapon chambers during my military service time and know the look of bakelit. It had filler of textil fibre or fabric pieces inside and was very durable and almost unbreakable. The volksempfänger shows the colour quite good. Almost brown that is so brown that it appears to be black from a distance.

The barrels, correct, they were very dark grey, but a red barrel looks quite cool sometimes.
