Actually, I'd thought that Tamiya Dk Yellow was a pretty good match for Dunkelgelb. I seem to remember someone of note, perhaps Jentz or maybe Zaloga, found some old German equipment (MG ammo box or something) painted in Dunkelgelb and found that Tamiya Dk Yellow, mixed with a touch of white, was the best/closest match. I remember reading this many times on ML, perhaps this site, and I believe others as well.

It's what I use now and I don't find it overly "puke" colored. Some find it very greenish colored, but my eyes do not see it that way. I find the other brands Dunkelgelb too brown for my taste (Model master, Polly S, etc.). No two people perceive colors the same, and obviously lighting plays a large role as well.
