Subject:  Question about painting/weathering an sFH 18 howitzerList thread.

Hey all,
I've just completed construction on Dragon's new howitzer and am ready to paint. I would like the look of a rather worn and weathered gun with some minor paint chipping. I'm going to do it and a faded dunklegelb. Can I primer and use the salt-chipping method? If so, would my base coat be the red-brown primer or would it be more accurate to have a dark gray base coat, simulating one that had been repainted in dunklegelb?
Thanks,
Jeff
