| Subject: | 1:7 or a new can of worms | |

Great thread to start the year off on guys.
I think we have all questioned ourselves whether the base color on our models looks "right" and we compound this issue with what type of light we have over our work benches and such. Then again it's amazing to take your model outside or to a show and expose it to different lighting conditions. Then we faced with the "damn that's not the color it was in my house". But in any case, for me, several judges have commented that the base colors on my vehicles are, of course, "too dark" and I could benefit by "lightening" the colors. So we keep toying with this can of worm. For me I'm going to at least attempt to try th 1:7 ratio.
Now the kicker for me is that when I "try" to go lighter I find that my overall oil wash darkens everything up so I'm almost back to where I started.
We're all trying to trick the eye so to each we follow our own path. |
