Hi Ruairi; I haven't used the Humbrol liquid poly so I can't say for sure how it bonds. The "Model Master" liquid cement that I use melts the plastic together. I do know that menerol spirits is a form of solvent not as strong as enamel or laquer thinner but still a solvent. And it could be desolving the bond between the tracks.Just a thought I have used rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle to help hold my pastels. Also the MM cement that I use has a needel applacater that works great with indv. tracks. Hope this helps. Steve
