Hi John. one thing you can do is Dry brush the entire model with a very light OD. My son did this to one that he did that was darker than he wanted. It gives the model a very artistic look. The low points in the texture stay dark while everything else lightens up. The other thing you can do is apply a glaze or as some peoplr call it a "filter". You use very little paint with a lot of thinner, 10% or less. Spray on very light coats letting each one dry before applying the next one. I use this method to make the paint look sun faded.
