I am not familar with the compressor you describe, but SENCO makes a small oil less compressor with one gallon tank and regulator for about $129 US(when I bought it several eyars ago). It goes with their small nail gun, sold separately. Not as noisy as others, but at low air pressure, the compressor doesn't run much after building up pressure to 110psi in the tank.
The tank levels out the pulsating from the compressor, something that the diaphram only compressor don't do and also serves as a moisture trap.
I agree for fine work about 10 psi is all you need and 30+ psi will blow off small parts not secrurely attached!
