I was a tanker in the army and have been building models for the last 30 years. I hate the paint chipping fad that is the in vogue technique of today. I think it can be unrealistic, and makes a model look completely exaggerated if not done with restraint or without an expert touch. In most circumstances this technique does not yield scale results unless the subject matter calls for such extreme weathering such as an abandoned or destroyed vehicle. Now, I admit that when the technique is properly employed, stunning results can be achieved, but it just seems like every model being made today has this paint effect on it and it's just gotten old to me. So, let the verbal bashibg begin.
