| Thanks Gerald, a good answer that i was looking for. It appears that the tow cable ends were painted the same way. I surmise that many museums got spare parts from the former Soviet Union and put them on their exhibits. many of the different ones plus some tanks recently in service show this. So now one needs to figure if they did the same in WWII. I would venture to say yes as I doubt they would store and ship parts without some sort of paint just to let them rust. |
