Hi Fred,
Are you washing the mold release agents off of the model parts before you start to build the kit? I find that acrylic paint does not "bite" into the plastic as much as a laquer base paint which tends to soften the plastic as it goes on. I find that the acrylic paints tend to "lay on" the surface of the plastic more than the laquer base paints. If you rinse the parts trees in luke warm water with a little liquid dish washing soap it helps the acrylic paint stick to the plastic rather than to the mold release agents.It also helps the laquer paints as well.
