Do you mean for washes?

I have used oil paint (the stuff in tubes) mixed with linseed oil as a wash. I also mixed in some turpentine. If I recall correctly I mixed a 50/50 solution of turpentine and linseed oils and used this to thin the paint. I can't recall the paint/thinner ratio, I think it was variable.
