I picked up this kit to make for an uncle who collects fireman stuff (he's in the Toronto fire service). I've had the kit tucked away for a few years now and as he is coming up to a big birthday so thought that I would make it.
It's moulded in an awful pinkish-red plastic that no paint seems to stick too. I've washed the plastic in mild dish water and let it dry, but still can't paint it. I've tried to prime it with white model primer which just made it slightly more pink.
Has anyone ever made this kit and if you did, how the hell did you manage to paint it?
