Hi Gazza , I find that you need to use a black primer for this odd coloured plastic , then a light grey on top as a dusting coat . Leave for several days before the final finish . best of luck , I had a similar problem with a Model T ford in 1/24 scale it took three primer coats before I was happy enough to try the final Olive green , cheers ian
