Hi Erik, I always thin oils with white spirit. Not sure if that's the right thing or not, but I seem to get decent results. I've found on occasions that used over enamels the white spirit and oils cause damage to the plastic. But I guess if you coat the model with a varnish of some sort it wouldn't be a problem. I've had no problems using the mixture over acrylic (I use Tamiya and Games Workshop mainly).
