Hi Andreas,
Have you tried using a clean brush dampened in thinner (the same turpenoid
should do) to "clean" the areas where you don't want any pigment to settle?
When I do a general wash I have always had to carefully monitor the drying
process. Cleaning and fixing some areas with the clean, thinner-dampened
brush. This is the only way I have found to eliminate those nasty "tide
marks".
Also, I agree with Ken. Oil washes are more controllable over a gloss coat.
As a bonus, gloss coat reduces "silvering" of decals dramatically. So gloss
coat before the decals are applied - and maybe after as well for good
measure. Sometimes thinners can attack decals, so seal them in with acrylic
gloss to be on the safe side. Then your wash (monitor that drying!) and you
should be ok.
Hope this helps,
David. |
