| Subject: | Spraying w/Tamiya Acrylic Paints | |

I am begging for help on airbrushing with Tamiya matt acrylics: I want to
get rid of the sandpaper aspect on my painted AFV's.
Yes, I heard that the my paint is probably almost dry when reaching the
model's surface; that I need to reduce the distance from the nozzle to the
model; that I need to reduce the air pressure; that I need to use a thinner,
etc..and so, on and on.
I have already looked for msgs on this forum searching for a reasonable
answer, and found several recipes.
The odd thing is that I could not find one that gives his/hers foolproof
formula for the final (and tried) paint mixture.
What I mean is that they inform that you need to use thinners (Tamiya's,
isopropyl, glass cleaners, distilled water, glycerin, de-mineralized water,
rubbing alcohol, etc., etc.) but NONE says the proportion of each item in
the final mixture.
What I have available is:
Tamiya matt paints
Isopropyl alcohol,
Glass Cleaner,
Pure liquid Glycerin,
and of course Tamiya Thiner X-20A (very, very expensive here)
and what I am looking for is a charitable and experienced soul that could
give me (and others) his successful formula:
(N) parts Tamiya paint
(X) parts product A
(Y) parts product B
(Z) parts product C
I fully appreciate any help that can be given to me.
