Hey Dave,
Sorry I've been so quiet lately; I'll catch up more with you soon.
Concerning the Achilles, check out the photos at:
http://www.sky.cz/pmilona/english.htm
It looks to me like there is no additional interior detail, except possibly
some more etched parts. The resin parts appear to be the stowage items,
ammunition, and gas cans, all of which Extratech currently sells separate
(reviews to be posted soon). Even though the ammunition set is technically
for 76mm, I think that the 17 pdr shells were close to the same size (can
someone confirm this?). One note, however: one of the photos shows the ammo
tubes stored inside the hull sponsons . . . this was only done in the M10,
not in the Achilles. The Achilles had their ammunition stored "naked"
without the tubes. Regardless, it looks like it will be a nice kit.
I know nothing about the planned price of the kit. I can only speculate that
it may not be as expensive as we might fear. Notice that their kit prices
have been steadily decreasing over the past year, I'm guessing as a result
of them recovering their mold-making costs. But that's just a guess (and
hope) on my part.
