Forums - Modelling / Smallscale

The construction forum is for the discussion of small scale AFV modelling. Usually this refers to 1-76th and 1-72nd scale AFVs.

I don't think Italeri will be doing any retooling of their kits, since all they are releasing are old ESCI kits. They recently acquired the molds for these kits, so this is some cheap profit for them. Without the costs of research, design, or making new molds, once they pay off the purchase price of the existing molds, they're into profit. Where's the incentive to make new ones?

It's not surprising that you were disappointed in their Elefant, as this kit is actually somewhere around 25 years old. The Dragon kit is superior to the Italeri kit, and I look forward to seeing the Trumpeter offering as well. Hopefully it will have hard plastic tracks, though with the recent comments I've been reading about the Trumpeter-Dragon competition, I doubt they will.
