Forums - Modelling / Smallscale

The construction forum is for the discussion of small scale AFV modelling. Usually this refers to 1-76th and 1-72nd scale AFVs.

first off - I feel compelled to clarify something that Saul has written in his post above about aperature size and focus in photographs.. To get the model in focus throughout its entire legnth the iris (aperature) needs to be at the SMALLEST setting possible. There is often confusion about this because there is a reversing of logic in the numbering of these "f-stops". The higher the number the smaller the aperture setting. This gives one the greatest depth of field, or focus. With digital cameras, apperantly the numbers for f-stops are not an exact gauging cross over from the standard film SLR camera lenses- My highest number (smallest aperature) on my Pentax K 1000 SLR is f-22 where as my digital Fujipix S602 has the smallest aperature, (highest number) of f-11. Don't worry about that. You will need to set the camera to Aperature priority and mount it on a tripod to avoid camera shake- also use the auto timer for shutter release... plus light it well.

Now to deal with the issues you raised in your postings Mr. Katseas. Frankly it seems a bit odd you would get so upset about some picstures of yours not being pulished. Track-link is not elitist. The reason some peoples works shows up more often than others is because they are prolific builders, have good models that are presented well in there photographs. Many people have to resubmit pics and are only too happy to and are polite. I really feel you may feel a little embarrassed by this "sour grapes" post of yours someday , or maybe not - perhaps you are a very obstinate and stuborn person. However calling Tracklink and its volunteer administrators names and calling into question their motives is very uncivilised. It is rather imature and really does not work in your favour . Why not let it go - accept the fact that the pics didn't make it - learn from this and try again later. Your brow beating and rudeness really are out of perspective with the importance of this hobby- there just plastic toys- why take it so personally?
