Subject:  Airfix GMC truck, newList thread.

Yesterday I got my Airfix GMC duece & half truck from Squadron. I am pleasantly pleased with the overall quality. Until now PST's 1/72 scale GMC has been the best kit of this truck in plastic. I think Airfix is a bit better than PST in detail. It also compares well with the PST kit in size. The Airfix GMC frame and cab are a bit longer than PST's and the Airfix cargo bed a bit bigger. Airfix even gives detail on the inside of the tilt so the back can be modeled open.
The drawbacks for Airfix is the mistake of only five vent holes in the front wheels! In the hundred photos I've seen they all have six holes! The rear ones have the correct six holes. To add insult to injury there are sinkholes in the front wheels and over many other parts.
