It suggests that larger scales are the 'proper' ones, while smaller scales are only for the eccentric (or those who want to ruin their eyesight). It's not even accurate; these days, with the amount of minute detail that has to be added to larger scale models in order for them to be deemed acceptable it's the 1:35 scale modellers who are going blind...
I started with 1:76/1:72 scale, and I still enjoy building models in that scale - and admire those who can do them well. |
