Hi, that my first post in this forum.
Abouth scales, I think, for me 1/48 could be the perfect scale, the problem is that such scale was forgotten for most of the manufacturers and there are not too many kits to choose.
I never built nothing small than 1/76, but if somebody wants to built 1/87; 1/100 or even small, it is Ok.
I don't know where is the point to say that any scale is small or big, in the hobby everithing is small, even 1/16.
The problem, I think, is at the moment in wich we have to go to a exposition or a competition.
I don't think that 1/48, 1/72, 1/100 or 1/144 have to be in the same category.
Like I don't think that 1/35, and 1/16 have to compite in the same cathegory.
1/48 models could have more possibilities to win than 1/72, and 1/72 more than 1/100, like 1/16 could have more posibilities to win in a competition than 1/35. In hands of the same modeler, more big have more details included in the kit, and if modeler go to a competition with a 1/48 and a 1/72 models, probably his 1/48 could have better points that the 1/72.
Abouth the term "braille scale", I think it is like all the terms, is not only the words or a semantic question, think is the way in wich the term is used, allways that a modeler called me "brailler", the term was used with a lot of respect, and it is good, I think.
The term is funny, and I don't disagree with it.
Carlos
