With the Revell kit (sand colored) i also started with the gun. Revell have simplefied the gun and have less parts for it. But they have more steps in the instructions to build the gun. The recoil system on to of the gun is missing its piston. This is solved by using a pice of streched spreu. On the Dragon kit this part was to long and had to be cut. On the Dragon kit is also a piston ontop of the breech that is to long. It also should be conected by a piston to the breech. Steps 25 and 26 in the Revell instructions are a bit strange. They sugest to first gleu the sides of the cradle. And then in step 26 push the gun in the craddle, to enable it to be moved up and down.
But when you gleu the dampers (part 62 and 63) to the gun and cradle,it will become impposible to move the gun. Some of the parts where replaced by parts of Dragon, because the where better detailed. Like the aiming divies and the gunners seat. Also the gun barrel. This is a weak point with all 1/72 Revell kits.
Maybey it took me 3 hours to finish the Revell Gun and 6 hours for the
Dragon, because i had build the Dragon gun earlier. But i still think Revell kit is better. In the same way that i enjoyed the Revell Famo more than the Famo from Trumpeteer.
