Forums - Modelling / Smallscale

The construction forum is for the discussion of small scale AFV modelling. Usually this refers to 1-76th and 1-72nd scale AFVs.

Iīm not really an expert on the Stuart but I can tell you this: The motorization of the M3A3 and the M5/M5A1 was not the same. Therefore the rear hull of the M5 is higher (raised) than the M3A3 which is flat. The turret of the M5 is the early Stuart turret, different than the M3A3. The turret of the M5A1 is the same as the M3A3.

Then there is the model you want to make. The US never used the M3A3. All where "lend-Lease" vehicles. In NW-Europe the majority of US Stuarts were M5A1. The M5 was used mainly in North Africa. And then there was the Pacific......

Hope this helps, and also hope the information is not to incorrect, but I donīt have the "US light Tanks" books with me right now.

Filipe
