Hello Vince -

I've used one of the following. Master Modeler in the black container which has the small narrow metal "pipe" for application. I've also used MEK which can be obtained from a hardware store. I buy the large container, but have a smaller container to use for re-fill. This is applied by using a small tipped brush.
Recently, a friend mentioned the Tamiya thin glue which comes with a small applicator brush. Depending on the situation, I've use one, or all of the above when building 1/72 scale.
As for attaching resin or metal aftermarket parts, I use a thin version of Super Glue. This too can be bought for less in your local hardware store. Good luck!
