I just picked up the Trumpeter Sherman Mid Version and it looks pretty nice. It comes with 1 piece bogeys for wargamers or multi-part ones. The detail looks pretty good, but all of the tools are molded on and are very thick (not very to scale). The tracks are soft plastic like Hasegawa ones (not real nice like the Dragon ones). Overall, it looks like a nice wargame piece or a basis for a lot of added details...I use my kits primarily for wargames, so I'm pleased with the kit.
As for the difference between an IS2 and IS2m...the difference is the front part of the hull where the driver sits...that's really it. The "m" version is the later version. Both fought in WWII and I've seen quite a few photos of units with both versions in them.
Hope this helps,
