Jakub, I have many books on the KV series and one which the readers may like is in English (the best so far until Neil Stokes publishes his). It is Tankograd Special No 2001, KV-2 Soviet Breakthrough Tank of WWII with English and German text.
However, the best book at the moment is from Frontline Illustration History of the Tank KV. It is in Russian which I do read. In it, on page 14, first paragraph, last sentence:
Soviet literature mentions the KV-1 and KV-2 from 1941, before that, the tank with the 152mm howitzer was referred to as Tank with Big Turret, and the KV with 76mm cannon - Tank with Small Turret.
The 152mm howitzer first used was the MT-10 (later the MT-10S) and the factory designations for the early prototypes were U, as in U-0 through U-5.
