Forums - Modelling / Smallscale

The construction forum is for the discussion of small scale AFV modelling. Usually this refers to 1-76th and 1-72nd scale AFVs.

Hi Rob

I am no expert on Gulf War colors but I'ss share what I know. I feel bad that no one has answered your question before now.

Model Master and Poly Scale put out good desert sand colors and I suspect all majot paint makers produce one. Paint techniques are more than be explained here. I recommend checking a number of paint articles at Track Link, ML and other good sites. To create dust, a technique is to apply pastel or paint pigment powder in water, then after ists dry whipe it off and spread it out. Some good modelers create great dust with a fine, dilute paint spray. You may want to experiment with faded colors on top, some filters. I doubt allied AFV's had much chance to get chipped much.

Good luck
