The other respondents have covered just about everything.

I just want to stress that the glue causes the plastic of the two components to merge and that cannot be reversed. It can be undone mechanically by cutting along joins but that would have to be done very carefully to avoid damaging the parts.

Esci kits are generally made from softer plastic than other kits and that may hinder your re-birthing efforts.

Perhaps you should experiment with the most expendable model.
