Forums - Modelling / Smallscale

The construction forum is for the discussion of small scale AFV modelling. Usually this refers to 1-76th and 1-72nd scale AFVs.

Hello!

I've been away from AFV modelling for a long long time. At the time (in the 70'2) I was inspired by good old Airfix Magazine and the fine range of conversion and scratch-building articles. I still have the magazines.

Besides I was for a time a member of MAFVA, and also keep their magazines from that time. Also, I have an almost complete collection of Bellona Military Prints from back then.

What this amounts to is I have a very large amount of 1:76 reference material, but what I gather is that 1:76 seems to have gone out of fashion, so to speak, replaced by 1:72.

I have stashed away a pile of old Airfix, Fujimi, Matchbox boxed kits for parts.

Well, nothing that a little scanning and scaling can't solve regarding my drawings, but if I was to start from the very beginning, which way would you advise me to go, 1:72 or 1:76?

Thanks,
Miguel
