Hey Stephen - I'm using a couple of sources. The Janusz Ledwoch book on
the T-34/76, published by Wydawnietwa Militaria, contains a partial
listing of unit insignia used by T-34s. Two have arrows - one with the
backward "a" on top (25th Guards Tank Brig) and one with a backwards "N"
(26 Guards Tank Brig.).

The Concord book "Armour battles on the Eastern Front (2) Downfall of
the Reich" shows two vehicles with the backwards "a" on page 50 (one gf
these is a great photo of T-34 # 235 which has either had a bridge
collapse under it or has accidentally taken a wrong turn and driven off
a destroyed bridge. Concord does not identify the unit.

Finally, the Russian Battlefield site has a photo of a burned out
T-34/85 identified as 25th Guards Tank Brigade. I'll try to attach it
to this post:

This might be the one you've seen - I think I had a copy at AMPS when we
met there (this is the marking available on the Archer transfer sheet
for the T-34/85).

I have seen one other unit with an arrow and a Cyrillic letter above -
the letter looked like an upside down U. However, I've not seen an
arrow with a number above in any photos and I'm pretty certain that the
25th Guards used the backwards "a".

By the way, I finished my first Revell T-34 - it's a sweet kit!
