Forums - Modelling / Smallscale

The construction forum is for the discussion of small scale AFV modelling. Usually this refers to 1-76th and 1-72nd scale AFVs.

Try Tracks and Troops. The URL is:

After amassing a large collection of 1/76 kits, I have started to build 1/72 kits of modern AFVs, simply because there's so many to choose from now.

I will still buy and build 1/76 as there's 100 plus injection moulded kits available. Fujimi and JB are still making new kits and Airfix keeps re-releasing their old favourites. On top of that, 1/76 remains the pre-eminent scale for resin and white metal kit manufacturers.

Unfortunately, few resin manufacturers in 1/72 seem to achieve sustainability. Similarly, market research by one manufacturer indicated next to no demand for 1/72 white metal kits. Perhaps that's because injection moulded kits are meeting the demand.

Stick with your 1/76 kits but give 1/72 a go too.

Happy modelling

David
