Mike,
Having had the chance to chat with Ron a few times maybe I can answer your questions and let him stay at the board working. Afterall, there are a number of releases we're all waiting for...lol.
1. He uses gouaches - but in a thinned watercolor (transparent vs. opaque) style. Giving him the best (fastest) drying time and the ability to thin the color or darken/richen when needed.
2. I think the others may have answered this, but yes - he does provide suggested poses. But more interesting, is that he calls upona few of his fellow Canadien friends to model the gear for him to work from. I recall him mentioning that he was fortunate enough to have a few friends that his collection of gear will fit properly. We all know how hard it is to find cool surplus or militaria...now imagine actually needing to find stuff that fit....lol. My understanding is that Ron has quite a vast collection and wardrobe of unforms and gear.
HTH,
Steve |
