Steve,
My personal view, as a Western alliance enthusiast who's also a bit of an ignorant pleb(!) I don't have a predjudice against Axis machinery- it's Tigers, Panthers and 251's. It's not that they're bad models, dull machines etc- far from it. There's just so many of them! The TL gallery lists two over two full pages of Tigers alone and if you're not an enthusiast it's hard to look at yet another model without your eyes glazing over, let alone remember a outstanding example. Of course this is a terrible attitude and I berate myself for feeling that way. Every single one of those Tigers represents someones hard work and inspiration, but I just can't work up any enthusiasm. I can't comment on Soviet/Axis thing, it's not something I've really noticed. I thought the reception the KV has recieved was generally quite good.

This again is a personal view, but a flick through the Axis gallery shows there are entertaining and unusual alternatives to the (excessively?) well covered Tigers etc.

.........and those are just from the first few pages, but hopefully provide a bit of inspiration.
