Why? Resin is generally more expensive and more difficult to build. Also, while the top 10% of resin producers can be generally be bought sight unseen (and be assured of a decent level of overall quality), the same can be said for the top 90% of injection producers. (In other words, the name alone gives the buyer a pretty good idea of the quality of kit for almost all IM companies. In resin, even the "Very Good" level companies can be a crapshoot.)

About the only clear advantage of resin is subject matter. Now, before I buy resin I ask myself, "Do you think this will be out in plastic before you get to making the resin?" If I'm going to have a kit sit on my shelves for 5 years (and then be sold off at 10 cents on the dollar), I'd rather it be a $30 kit than a $120 kit.

If I absolutely HAD to make a kit - today - of a Comet, I'd guess I'd have to buy the AA. However, since I don't, I won't, and if asked would say I'd like one in plastic. (A fer instance only - I'm not interested in Comets.)
