I just got back from Switzerland and went to the tank museum in Thun. Thanks to fellow Swiss TL’er Philippe, I knew where to go to find it. Well almost, you see unless you live in Switzerland you probably have never even heard of Thun and unless you’re a tank fanatic you wouldn’t know that they had a tank museum there.
In fact the only way we found it was by going to the military museum at the Thun castle, then getting directions to a place (off the map) then wandering around looking for a museum that isn’t really there. It’s actually on the Swiss Army amour-training base just outside of Thun and you had to be escorted to the tanks by a soldier.
Anyway it was worth it because they have at least 30 tanks from all eras. Including a King Tiger, a Panther and a Jagdpanther. I’d like to post the pictures of the tanks somewhere. I always feel bad for Paul that were making him run ragged and so if someone out there can tell me an easy free website to post them on then I’ll do it.
